Pan Heong Restaurant 品香食家小馆 is definitely the most popular and busiest restaurant in the Batu Caves neighborhood; established for more than 3 decades, the Chinese restaurant has been serving the local community for years. It started off with a few signature dishes and slowly expanding its menu throughout the years. To date, the restaurant offers a bible-thick menu, offering dishes suitable for all age-range. Best seller and signature dishes include the River Prawn Wat Tan Hor, Porridge and various Chinese stir fries. The place is often packed on weekends and short wait is usually expected. Nevertheless, Pan Heong Restaurant is still a good choice when it comes to family restaurant at Batu Caves area.

LeTen Dim Sum & Asian Cuisine @ Mitsui Outlet Park, Sepang, Selangor.

The one and only Chinese restaurant at Mitsui Outlet Park Sepang would be LeTen Dim Sum and Asian Cuisine. The Muslim-friendly Chinese restaurant has been luring in a great crowd since its opening. The Chinese restaurant has quite a standard Chinese menu featuring stir fry dishes as well as an array of Dim Sum dishes. Notable highlights include Shanghainese Xiao Long Bao, freshly made Siew Mai, Har Kaw etc. The menu is suitable for group family diners and the dining hall is equally accommodating. Prices are slightly higher than some restaurants but so does the quality; a good dining option if you happen to be there.

[Lounge Review] Air Asia Premium Red Lounge @ KLIA2, Selangor.

If you are flying with the national low-cost carrier Air Asia and having a layover at KLIA2, chances are high that you have quite a few hours to spend. Globetrotters will understand the need for a quick recharge and to get some work done. Started its operations since September 2016, the Air Asia Premium Red Lounge is one of the few options you can consider. Found inside the International Departure hall of KLIA2, one would need to clear security and immigration before finding your way there. Right next to the Red Lounge is "The Lounge KLIA2" which offers a different experience at slightly higher price. 

At the Air Asia Premium Red Lounge, one will be pampered with food buffet (though limited options), comfortable chairs, well-equipped work stations and shower facility. The access to the lounge is complimentary for Premium Flatbed travelers; otherwise, it is subject to a fee of RM 85 for walk-ins and RM 75 for online pre-books.

Sister Kam Yong Tau Foo (两姐妹酿豆腐) @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

Yong Tau Foo is an unlikely affair at the light industrial zone of Seri Kembangan but one particular shop stands out. Those who are in the know will find their way to Sister Kam Yong Tau Foo, a Yong Tau Foo specialist that offers home-made Yong Tau Foo. The variety is rather limited but ardent fans of Yong Tau Foo will find the rows of Hakka delights more than satisfying; though prices seem to be on the higher side for Penang's standards. A no-frills casual lunch spot that you may consider to drop by if you are in the vicinity. 

[Hotel Review] Aerotel- Airport Transit Hotel @ KLIA2, Selangor.

KLIA2 is one of the busiest airports in Malaysia and the main hub for Air Asia, one of the best low-cost carriers in the world. The KLIA2 is unlike any other airports in Malaysia... thanks to the combined retail space next to the airport- Gateway @ KLIA2 Mall. There are plenty of services available at KLIA2 and one of the latest additions to the airport is Aerotel Kuala Lumpur... an international airport transit hotel brand proudly brought in by Plaza Premium Group. Strategically located at the landside of Terminal KLIA2 and within the airport mall, the hotel has close proximity to the departure and arrival halls, offering easy access for travelers who need some shut-eye. The hotel is designed and developed accommodate the needs of all travelers- comforting private resting areas, shower facility with full amenities or recharge over a meal. Room rates start from RM98 for an hour at the Solo Plus Room.

Prosperity Bowl (公鸡碗菜园滑鸡) @ SS2, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

It's easy to find Chicken Rice but it's not easy to find decent poached Chicken... the traditional way. Opened for a little less than 4 years, Prosperity Bowl (公鸡碗菜园滑鸡) has pocketed a few awards across the year; the brand has also garnered an appreciate following. On weekends, the Chicken specialist at SS2 sees relentless crowd... though especially known for its poached Free Range Chicken and barbecued Pork (Char Siew), Prosperity Bowl offers a family-friendly Chinese menu with noodle and rice options. Not exactly the most wallet-friendly choice around but good enough to sate your cravings or a quick meal if you are in the vicinity.

Woo Ng Kee Restaurant (胡伍记海鲜酒家) @ Kepong, Selangor.

Woo Ng Kee Restaurant (胡伍记海鲜酒家) occupies a few shop lots and is a perennial stop for families and visitors alike. The 60-year old restaurant with an old, not-aestheticized facade has withstood the test of time and has been the communal dining spot for the folks in Kepong. Stepping in the classic Chinese restaurant feels like traveling back in time... colorful tiles, old-school furnishings, closely arranged tables and chairs but what's important is... the generation-old recipes. The proprietor is the third generation manning the restaurant and is still offering some of the signature dishes introduced back then. A family restaurant with solid menu and inexpensive price tags.

A Pie Thing @ Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Having pies as main course is not really the common practice here in Malaysia but not quite the case here in 'A Pie Thing'. The pie specialist at Petaling Jaya offers a great variety of both savory and sweet pies. Established few years ago, the brand has been known as the place to go to when it comes to pies. You will not find traditional Pie flavors here but instead, an array of creative Malaysian favorites... can be as good as snacks (for sharing) or as satisfying as a meal. For pie lovers, A Pie Thing is definitely the Pie Mecca that you would not want to miss.

Miru Dessert Cafe @ Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The competition is fierce as there are an endless number of food eateries at Damansara Uptown but Miru Dessert Cafe is one of the few standing strong in the neighborhood. It started out as a Japanese dessert-inspired cafe mainly offering Shibuya Toast and Kakigori. The business has since expanded and the brand has presence across Klang Valley now. The menu remains as a dessert-focused menu without much expansion but we were glad that they have managed to maintain the quality over the years. Though not exactly the cheapest around but they do not skimp on ingredients, definitely one of the better choices when it comes to Japanese desserts or Toast. 

Recharge Yourself Before Next Leg of The Journey @ Plaza Premium Lounge, Gateway @ KLIA2!

One of the most cumbersome and exhausting challenges for globe-trotters would be the long transit hours especially when multiple flights are involved. Plaza Premium Lounge, Gateway @ KLIA2 is an oasis for travelers having long-hour transit, there is a wide range of services that cater to travelers' needs while waiting for their next leg of journey at the airport. Transit hotels are not common in some countries but for a busy transfer hub like KLIA2, it is most helpful for the onward-bound passengers. The Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA2 is strategically located within the Gateway @ KLIA2, a short walk from the check-in counters of the airport, right above the retails at Gateway KLIA2. It boasts over a comfortable exclusive space, especially needed for business travelers. 

Senya Japanese Dining and Bar @ Mitsui Outlet Park, Sepang, Selangor.

Shoppers at the deserted Mitsui Outlet Park at Sepang can explore Senya Japanese Dining and Bar, one of the few restaurants in Mitsui Outlet Park. The outlet in Mitsui Outlet Park is an extended branch, there are quite a few branches across Klang Valley. The menu appeared to be quite extensive, featuring most of the classic Japanese eats- Tempura, Soba/ Udon, Nabe, Teriyaki etc. While the price points are relatively higher than some Japanese restaurants, they commensurate in terms of quality. It can be a decent place to fill up the tummy or to stretch your shopping legs. 

New Paris Restaurant (新巴黎大菜馆) @ SS2, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Ask anyone who stays in the neighborhood of SS2 (Petaling Jaya) for an inexpensive, quick and comfortable place for Zhu Char (Chinese Stir Fry dishes), New Paris Restaurant is probably one of the names most mentioned. The long-established Chinese home-styled restaurant has been there for long and has since, earned its reputation for being one of the best Chinese restaurants around. Nestled within the housing area, the restaurant occupies 3 units with a huge signage can be easily spotted from far. The place is huge and could easily accommodate diners in large groups, air-conditioned seats are available too. The Cantonese-styled menu is large and reasonably priced (in the context of Klang Valley's living standards).

Flight Club @ Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Sepang, Selangor.

A false impression by many... that getting a good, affordable and healthy meal is nearly impossible. If you are concerned of the potentially dissatisfying plane food, it is always wise to have a quick fix before jetting off but with so many options choose from, it can be a little overwhelming. If the stomach is rumbling, get yourself a healthy fix at Flight Club without worrying the fat factor. Strategically located at the Mezzanine Floor of the Satellite Terminal (of International Departure), Flight Club is one of the dining labels under Plaza Premium Group and offers a selection of healthy cuisines to air travelers. "Herbs & Seeds" is the concept heavily promoted in Flight Club, all dishes are supplemented with a selection of herbs and seeds for better health benefits. Budget watchers would be glad to know that dining in Flight Club would not break the bank, a satisfying breakfast starts from Rm 16 nett or a glass of cold pressed Fruit Juice (from Rm 16 nett) would give you an opportunity to dine-in the restaurant with spectacular airport view and unlimited usage of high speed WiFi. The restaurant is not exclusive and opens to all public.

Bari Uma Japanese Restaurant @ Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang, Selangor.

End of the year has always been the best time for fellow Malaysians to shop- major fashion brands would lure customers with huge and attractive discounts. On my recent trip down to KL (read my review for Delicious here), I've managed to stop by Mitsui Outlet Park Sepang... for some quick shopping. The place is quite deserted and the best way to deal with hunger while you are there would be to dine in at one of the restaurants in the mall. Mitsui Outlet Park Sepang opens as early as 10 am in the morning and most restaurants would be ready by 11 am. It was our first visit and we tried our luck at Bari-Uma, a Japanese Ramen specialist....
