More choices for meat-free eaters, Art Nature Cafe, a long established vegetarian cafe from Alor Setar (Kedah) has recently opened up a new branch here in Penang's ICT Mall, KOMTAR. It offers the same menu as the main branch, it has a variety of local vegetarian food with a creative twist. Notable highlights include Assam Lemak Laksa, Tofu with Cheese and Egg, Oyster Mushroom Porridge etc. Apart from being part of the meat-free community, the cafe occasionally hosts photography-related events. The cafe is located right next to the main KOMTAR bus terminal so it tends to be a little noisy but if you are someone who enjoys watching the busy scenes where bus riders hop on and off the buses, this is definitely the place you are looking for.

Penang's Latest Attractions- Jurassic Research Center and Rainbow Skywalk @ The TOP, KOMTAR.
In the effort of revamping and restoring the past glory the iconic skyscraper of Penang- Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (KOMTAR), Only World Group (OWG) initiated the project- "The TOP" with the philosophy of "Fun, Food and Good Living". The project includes an introduction of a spate of F&B outlets, indoor and outdoor theme parks but one of the greatest highlights of the project is to have 3 additional floors added to the originally 65-storey skyscraper, increasing its height to 249 meters. "Jurassic Research Center", "Rainbow Skywalk", "Magic Mirror Maze", "Jelly Bump Bumper Cars", "Dragon Regatta", "Dino Gym", "7D Discovery Motion Theater", "Ocean Explorer", "Tech Dome Penang" are some of its attractions and rest-assured, there will be something suitable for visitors of all age groups. For more information, please follow The TOP's Facebook Page or email your inquiry to sales@thetop.com.my.
Many Thanks to The TOP and WIN Creative Marketing for arranging the tour.

Grand Imperial Chinese Restaurant (喜粤海鲜酒家) @ The TOP, KOMTAR.
The TOP, one of the State Government's efforts in restoring the previous glory of Kompleks Tunku Abdul Razak (KOMTAR) has finally materialized and the new food & beverage hub has finally opened its doors to the public recently. Gourmands would be glad to know that the place is expecting quite a number of tenants moving in and Grand Imperial Chinese Restaurant is definitely one of the notable ones. Grand Imperial is certainly one big name that you should have heard of, the brand has many branches nationwide (with one branch at London). We did not get to try their usual offering but managed to check out their daily Dim Sum menu. There are two ways to get to "The Top"- enter from KOMTAR Walk and proceed with the escalators or via the multi-storey Car Park opposite to Pos Malaysia/ Maybank at KOMTAR; we used the latter option. We saw a familiar scene at the dining hall but sans the Dim Sum carts and customers perpetually lingering around. Servers frantically churn out a variety of Dim Sum dishes- diners are to place their orders and the servers will serve them when the dishes are ready (instead of choosing your preferred Dim Sum dishes over the counter). For the comfortable and elegant ambiance, the cost is at a bargain... with most dishes priced in the range of Rm 5 to 9.......

Daily Buffet Dinner @ 59 Sixty, KOMTAR, Georgetown, Penang.
Relish an exquisite dining experience at 59 Sixty, a relaxed urban restaurant perched dramatically above the iconic building of Penang- KOMTAR (Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak) in the heart of the city. Enjoy your meal amidst the scenic view and stunning vistas of the isle of Penang; take in flavors of local specialties and a vast selection of Japanese, Middle Eastern, Nyonya, Western and Hong Kong-influenced dishes showcasing through the extensive buffet stations. Diners can also walk around the restaurant scouting for their pick as well as to enjoy the 360 degree panoramic city views. There are different themes as to the decorations of the seating- some with simple and unnecessary frills; some meant for couples in love while some are for family occasions.
While 59 Sixty has been receiving unfavorable comments since its opening earlier this year, many changes have been made, including a new management team headed by executive Chef, Chef Jason H. The culinary team consists of a vast background of Chefs that specializes in churning out different International dishes; expect to see more than 100 dishes available in their buffet spread.

Maxim Dim Sum (美食之家) @ Komtar Walk, Georgetown, Penang.
One of the famous brands for Dim Sum in Penang- Maxim Dim Sum (美食之家) has extended its business operations lately; opening a new branch at a place where time has forgotten- Komtar Walk, taking up the prominent corner lot there. Similar to most of its branches, the branch here at Komtar Walk serves both Dim Sum dishes and made-to-order Stir Fry dishes as well. The place has exactly the same setting just like any other Maxim branches but the strategic location in the heartland of Georgetown adds a delightful joy, where diners can slowly enjoy the Dim Sum dishes, sipping on the hot Chinese Tea and watching the cars driving past the bustling Penang Road.
