126 WanTau Sik 河魚飯店 is one of the many Chinese restaurants at Gohtong Jaya Genting Highlands, the restaurant can be easily spotted as it is located near to the junction entrance to the row of shop lots. The restaurant offers a Chinese menu with a focus on fresh water fishes as well as some Chinese stir fries, just like other Chinese restaurants. Prices are of normal range at Gohtong Jaya/ Genting Highlands (slightly higher as compared to normal standard); a convenient spot to enjoy a family meal before heading or exiting Genting Highlands.

Fenix Restaurant 鳯记 @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Associated with Loong Kee Restaurant at Gohtong Jaya, a well-established Chinese restaurant in the same area; Fenix Restaurant 鳯记 is one of the newest restaurants at Gohtong Jaya. Opened its doors in September 2023, the Chinese restaurant offers a classic, big Chinese menu fits for all diners of all age range. Signature dishes include Organic Free-Range Chicken, various freshwater fishes, river Prawns etc. The restaurant offers a cozy dining atmosphere... coupled with the chilly mountain breeze, it offers a comfortable dining experience. Dishes are priced reasonably with generous portion, worth checking out if you are in the vicinity.

Trattoria Il Lago @ SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting, Pahang.

Accessible from both SkyAvenue and the newly opened Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park, Trattoria Il Lago is one of the latest restaurants that have recently joined the clamoring SkyAvenue. Like its name suggested, the restaurant offers an Italian-focused menu where diners get to find Antipasti, Pizza, Pasta and various Italian delights. The price points seem affordable amongst the restaurants in SkyAvenue but the quality can be further improved. 

Five Guys Burgers and Fries @ SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting, Pahang.

Renowned American fast food chain- Five Guys Burger and Fries has finally landed in Malaysia, opening the nation's first outlet at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. During the first few opening weeks, the chain seen relentless queues with fans queuing patiently for their turns to get their hands on the Burgers. Fiev Guys does not offer a fancy menu with plenty of options but only focuses on what they are good at- Burgers, Fries, Hot Dogs, Sandwiches and Milkshakes. While some thought that the price tags are rather steep, we thought they were okay considering the location (well, a serving of Chicken Rice costs more than Rm 20 at SkyAvenue). Some tips if you wish to avoid the crowd- go there earlier (before 11:30 am) or go for take-away instead of dine-in as the queue tends to be shorter. Five Guys Burgers and Fries is on the same floor as Burger and Lobster at SkyAvenue. 

Béni @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Béni, a one-starred Michelin restaurant from Singapore has recently extended its business operation to Malaysia... opening a branch at SkyAvenue of Resorts World Genting. According to its official website, Béni's menu integrates French fine-dining cuisine and Japanese produce... a Japanese reinterpretation of French cuisine. The restaurant at SkyAvenue has limited seating, probably could accommodate less than 6 tables... with an open kitchen and a display fridge with selected Wines. The price points are of fine-dining range but if you are keen to try their offering without putting a dent on the wallet, the 3 Course Set Meal (starts from Rm 68 per pax) is definitely a good choice. The 3 Course Set Meal is available daily, all day long.

DZH Fish Village 山水鱼庄餐厅 @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Strategically located behind of Gohtong Jaya, DZH Fish Village was made popular due to its traditional Chinese architecture... with a huge pond in the middle and seemingly floating boats painted in red as well as various knick-knacks that decorate the place to the theme. With the chilly temperature at the hilltop, the place is indeed dreamy and makes a good spot for photography. The menu is also pretty Chinese-focused... offering a great variety of Chinese and local dishes as well as a hotpot menu. Prices are steeper than usual restaurants but that's a norm for any food eateries at Genting Highlands... good for novelty experience.

YG Republique Korean Restaurant @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting, Pahang.

There is no shortage of Korean food at Sky Avenue but YG Republique is definitely one worth-visit Korean restaurant over there. Found at Level 2 of Sky Avenue, the Korean restaurant specializes in offering Pork barbecue but their ala-carte menu is not to be forsaken as well. It features a series of classic Korean delights; though prices on the steeper side, the quality is good and rather authentic. Service however, can be friendlier... they attempted to stop me from taking photos. Despite the less-warm welcome, we thought the food was quite good and the serving portion well-justified the prices.

The Laughing Fish By Harry Ramsden @ SkyAvenue, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

One of the big names when it comes to Fish and Chips- Harry Ramsden is a world famous brand based in UK for Fish and Chips; it has recently opened its first outlet in Malaysia. The Laughing Fish is an embodiment of traditional English pub experience and classic English delights... Fish and Chips. The boldly named outlet is now riding high at High Line Roof Top Market of SkyAvenue Resorts World Genting, with relentless queue of diners waiting in anticipation to have a taste of UK. Those who are on the go may opt for takeaway, with orders to be made at a separate take-away counter... right next to the restaurant. The restaurant itself, features classic British interiors and offers an English menu. Prices are of mid-range but the quality in return, would be pleasing. 

Beauty In The Pot (美滋锅) @ SkyAvenue, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

One of the latest additions to SkyAvenue at Resorts World Genting is Beauty In The Pot (美滋锅) which hits the spot- the resorts' all year round chilly weather would be perfect for hotpot, a go-to method to warm up. The newly opened hotpot specialist however, woos female guests with its name and special emphasis to "Beauty", offering Collagen-filled hotpot broth in a unique way. Set on the highest floor of SkyAvenue, guests visiting the hotpot restaurant will be awarded with fantastic view overlooking the hilltop, with occasional mist and hill fog painting the picture. But be prepared for a long wait if you are planning to visit this place during this holiday season, do queue and take the number earlier (at least an hour before your actual visit). It's also noteworthy that the hotpot restaurant offers 20% discounts on all hotpot ingredients after 10:30 pm (only applicable on Mondays to Fridays, excluding weekends and Public Holidays). 

Celebrate Chinese New Year 2018 Above The Clouds @ Genting Palace, Resorts World Genting, Pahang.

Reunite with loved ones and friends at 6,000 feet above sea level; Resorts World Genting celebrates Chinese New Year with a series of lunch and dinner promotions. Bask in the festive Spring season at Genting Palace, one of the long-established Chinese Restaurants housed within Genting Grand, welcomes the Year of the Dog by offering an array of traditional Chinese New Year Set Menus. From 1 February 2018 to 2 March 2018, visitors may pre-book and tuck into the classic Chinese New Year delights at Genting Palace, with Set Menus available from Rm 588 nett (for 4 pax), Rm 888 (for 6 pax), Rm 1,388 nett (for a table of 10 pax) and so. We sampled the 8-course Chinese New Year Set (Rm 1,388 nett) by Genting Palace. Other restaurants that offer Chinese New Year include Ming Ren and Imperial Rama. Grandmama's (摇滚妈妈) @ SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting, Pahang.

It's hard to miss Grandmama's, the restaurant is strategically located on ground floor of the new Sky Avenue, facing Sky Symphony and next to PictureHouse Cinema (same floor as the entrance to Sky Casino). The name gives a hint on the potential offering but as you walked closer, you will find a display of plastic food models at the display counter. It has a mix of Chinese delights with a touch of Malaysian elements so the dishes should not be new to Malaysians. Business is brisk, likely a place for a quick fix instead of leisure gathering; not too grueling to the wallet too if you must know (expect to spend around Rm 25-30 per pax on average).

Guan Kie Seafood Restaurant (新群记海鲜饭店) @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Approximately 10 km away from Resorts World Genting, Gohtong Jaya is often the popular pit-stop for travelers traveling up the hill, the place is now flooded with plethora restaurants and coffee houses, offering a wide range of food choices to the public. Prices are generally more wallet-friendly here as compared to those food outlets up the hill. It is common to find Chinese restaurants here, particularly those offering Chinese stir-fry dishes, with some exceptions to Seafood dishes. We tried our luck with Guan Kie Seafood Restaurant, which has a huge menu pasted on the wall (written in Mandarin). While the prices are reasonable, we did not the food was all that great, good for quick fix but definitely not a place for indulgence.

Palsaik Korean BBQ Restaurant @ Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Korean food devotees should not be new to the name- Palsaik... the Korean restaurant is well-established in central Malaysia and has 7 branches across the nation. It should not be hard to notice the Korean restaurant; if you have walked past the al-fresco area of Sky Avenue, you would have noticed this high-floor restaurant. The place is usually packed with patrons on evenings but relatively quieter during day time. Palsaik is known for its barbecue items but it does offer ala-carte menu as well; prices are on the higher side but it can be a rather enjoyable moment when grilling meat and find yourself surrounded in a cool, chilly weather. We did not manage to try their barbecue items but for those that we have had, we thought they were disappointingly average. 

Zok Noodle House (竹面馆) @ SkyAvenue, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

It's always stomach-comforting to have steaming hot soup under cold, chilly weather; for such experience at Genting Highlands, make your way to Zok Noodle House. Founded by a group of Malaysians, the brand aims to bring Hong Kong and Macanese delights to Malaysia. There are a few branches across Klang Valley, though the menu is slightly different for the branch at Genting Highlands, most of its signature dishes are still on offer. Prices are pretty reasonable and affordable, for the fact that you are dining at the mountain top. But do beware on the serving portion, it can be a little overwhelming for petite eaters. This is a good place for a quick, affordable family meal.

2 Day 1 Night Guide to Explore Resorts World Genting, Pahang.

Resorts World Genting, or commonly known as Genting Highlands, is one of the famous and well-received hill resorts in Malaysia. The hill resort at  6,000 feet above sea level  and enjoys chilly weather all year long; just less than an hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur, the resort is often the famous spot for a quick weekend getaway for most families. The group announced plans to redevelop the place earlier and now, the place has a completely new face and transformation. First of its major development plans include Sky Avenue, a lifestyle shopping mall, Genting Premium Outlet and the most anticipated 20th Century Fox Theme Park; the theme park falls under the later phase (expected to be complete in 1st Quarter of 2018) but Sky Avenue and Genting Premium Outlets have recently opened its doors to the public, adding a variety of fashion retails, food & beverages and various entertainments to the resorts. E18hteen Crockfords Inspired Cuisine @ Maxims Genting Highlands, Pahang.

In honor of your vacation at the top of the hill, a good Brunch adds extra marks to your relaxing getaway. If you are looking for a quiet, picturesque spot to indulge over brunch, make your way to the 18th floor of Maxims Genting. Right next to the pool is a restaurant known as E18hteen- a dining spot that boasts over a scenic view of more than 6,000 feet above sea level and be enveloped in a modern-contemporary setting. The restaurant is relatively unknown to many (except the hotel guests at Maxims Genting) so expect it to be less-crowded and much quieter than those clamoring outlets near First World Hotel. For semi-buffet breakfast, the restaurant charges Rm 68 nett (per pax/ Geting Rewards Card Members) with a choice of Main (from the menu) and unlimited refills from the buffet spread (cold cuts, loaves, cheeses, cereals, salad and fruits); a truly affordable luxury for such an extravagant decadent brunch.  Please note that E18hteen Inspired Cuisine is open for all guests, do inform the receptionists at the lobby (of Maxims Genting) and they will grant you access to the lift. Ltitude Restaurant, Bar & Lounge @ Genting Club, Genting Grand, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

At Resorts World Genting, the place operates at its own fantastic speed- rapid developments with new lifestyle mall, luxurious entertainments and a spate of restaurants offering different types of cuisine but for a place like Genting Highlands, there are some places even for those high-net individuals with deep pockets have problems getting into. There are some lounges and casinos that only open for Genting Rewards Card Gold and Platinum-ranked Members; right next to the exclusive Genting Club Casino is Ltitude. There is a definite luxury feel to it, before you even get into the restaurant, you will be asked to present your Genting Rewards Card so for those holding Classic or Silver-ranked Membership, you will have to inform the concierge that you are visiting the restaurant (fret not, Ltitude opens to the public). All guests visiting Ltitude must possess valid Genting Rewards Card. Ltitude offers a Japanese-Chinese-Western menu, though prices seem hefty but they commensurate with absolute quality.

La Fiesta @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Set on the long-stretch of restaurants on the first floor of the lifestyle mall at Sky Avenue Genting Highlands, La Fiesta is a convivial spot filled with Spanish Hams, Tapas and Wines. Step in the restaurant and be instantly transported to Europe... the low-lit railway arch, hanging lights, wooden wine racks and a display of Spanish Hams near the entrance; suggesting diners to embrace its authentic Spanish atmosphere. Despite the heavy decoration, the food and drinks menu is serious. There are ample choices for wine lovers and even more for Spanish food aficionados. It covers a range of Tapas (including its signature Iberico) to Paellas and ends with choices of Spanish sweet treats. Albeit the serious setting, the items are competitively priced; watch out for the occasional promotions if you are on a tight budget.

Burger & Lobster @ Sky Avenue, Resort World Genting Highlands, Pahang.

One of the most exciting news in the F&B scene (2016) in Malaysia was the announcement on the famous Burger and Lobster chain restaurant from United Kingdom, opening its first branch in Southeast Asia. The UK-based chain restaurant picked Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands as its first outpost and has since then, received spotlight from food connoisseurs. Resorts World Genting has been marketing the restaurant as one of the top picks to dine-in above 6,000 feet in the hills, all the lobsters are imported and air-flown in from deep Atlantic Waters to Resorts World Genting. Not only that the restaurant here (in Malaysia) shares identical menu to the ones in London, the price structure is quite similar too (20 GBP for a Burger OR Lobster/ at the point of writing- Rm 110). A basic Burger would cost Rm 65 here while the standard Lobster order costs Rm 138 (if you are a Genting Rewards Card Member). Burger & Lobster can be found at ground floor of Sky Avenue, near to the entrance from First World Hotel (where the main Genting Casino is located).
