Fenix Restaurant 鳯记 @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Associated with Loong Kee Restaurant at Gohtong Jaya, a well-established Chinese restaurant in the same area; Fenix Restaurant 鳯记 is one of the newest restaurants at Gohtong Jaya. Opened its doors in September 2023, the Chinese restaurant offers a classic, big Chinese menu fits for all diners of all age range. Signature dishes include Organic Free-Range Chicken, various freshwater fishes, river Prawns etc. The restaurant offers a cozy dining atmosphere... coupled with the chilly mountain breeze, it offers a comfortable dining experience. Dishes are priced reasonably with generous portion, worth checking out if you are in the vicinity.

Steamed Organic Chicken 龙家马草鸡 (Rm 68/ small)

Braised Homemade Beancurd with Chinese Squash 胜瓜虾球豆腐 (Rm 35/ small)

Superior Soup with Live Kappa Clams and Prawns 上汤拉拉草虾 (Rm 58)

Stir Fried Choy Sum Kai Lan with Preserved Radish 菜圃鸳鸯菜 (Rm 20/ small)

Tai Lok Mee 福建面 (Rm 13.80/ small)

We were introduced to various signature dishes of theirs, including the Steamed Organic Chicken. The poultry carried a bold meaty flavor with slightly thick, puckered skin. The meat was not as smooth and tender as hoped but the accompanying Ginger-Scallion dip and Garlic-Chili dip were spot on. Another most ordered dish- Superior Soup with Live Kappa Clams and Prawns was surprisingly good. Albeit a little exquisite, the soup has some Thai elements into it- fresh Basil leaves, Chilies over Seafood soup. The Clams were plump and the Prawns were fresh, we thought it was quite good. None of the dishes disappoint.
