Béni @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Béni, a one-starred Michelin restaurant from Singapore has recently extended its business operation to Malaysia... opening a branch at SkyAvenue of Resorts World Genting. According to its official website, Béni's menu integrates French fine-dining cuisine and Japanese produce... a Japanese reinterpretation of French cuisine. The restaurant at SkyAvenue has limited seating, probably could accommodate less than 6 tables... with an open kitchen and a display fridge with selected Wines. The price points are of fine-dining range but if you are keen to try their offering without putting a dent on the wallet, the 3 Course Set Meal (starts from Rm 68 per pax) is definitely a good choice. The 3 Course Set Meal is available daily, all day long.

[Main] Truffle Cream Pasta (Rm 68 for the 3-course Meal)

[Main] Sous Vide Chicken with Abufeira Sauce (Rm 88 for the 3-course Meal)

[Amuse Bouche] Truffle Tuna in Filo Pastry

[Dessert] Chocolate Tart with Butterscotch Sauce and Chantily Creme

The 3 Course Set Meal started with an Amuse Bouche of Truffle Tuna in Filo Pastry... Truffle Oil-seasoned Tuna wrapped in a crispy Filo Pastry with a touch of Parsley. The whole combo was lovely, the Truffle element was discernible but not overpowering... it softened the Tuna's fish stench while the crispy Filo Pastry added an addictive crunch. For mains, we had Truffle Cream Pasta and Sous Vide Chicken with Abufeira Sauce (an additional top up of Rm 20 was required). The former one was good, the Pasta was beautifully cooked with al-dente texture and expertly coated in creamy, rich sauce. The Truffle flavor was apparent and bold, a pretty good Truffle-infused Pasta dish. The Chicken was a little less impressive. Though the texture of the meat was good but the Abufeira sauce was weak in flavor. It did not leave us a very deep impression, the sauce seasoning was weak. We were expecting stronger flavors for this one. We rounded up the meal with Chocolate Tart with Butterscotch Sauce and Chantily Creme... which was pretty average-decent. One good thing- it was not overly sweetened, everything was just alright and the sweetness was spot on.

Acqua Panna (Rm 18)
