Talk Talk Kopi @ Sunshine Central, Farlim, Penang.

Talk Talk Kopi is one of the many Halal options in Sunshine Central Mall Penang, it is also one of the earliest tenants to join the mall during its opening end of last year. The Kopitiam-style eatery offers Malaysian delights like Nasi Lemak, Kaya Butter Toast, Curry Chicken... and some uncommon ones include Ramen Udang (a different version of the Malaysian Mee Udang), Koay Teow Basah etc. Dishes are reasonably priced, not a bad choice if you are looking for some Malaysian dishes.

Ramen Udang (Rm 17.90)

Rempah Chicken Nasi Lemak (Rm 18.90)

Tomyam Chicken Chop (Rm 19.90)

Vegetarian Satay Rice (Rm 14.90)

Kaya Butter Toast (Rm 5.50)

Cucur Udang (Rm 9.90/ 4 pcs)

Iced Lemon Barley (Rm 6.90)

Iced Calamansi (Rm 5.90)

Start with the Kaya Butter Toast- we were impressed by the overall quality. Not that it was outstanding but it ticked all the quintessential boxes- crisp with a generous slab of Butter and good spread of Kaya. The thickness of the Toast was just alright too. The Ramen Udang stroke us with its bold umami-flavor as well as the delightful Prawn flavor. The broth was very similar to what we can get for Mee Udang, except the texture of the noodles was better than the usual Yellow Noodles. The Nasi Lemak came in a huge portion with a Fried Chicken Thigh. The Sambal was good, the Chicken was not too shabby either; though some of us felt it was too dry but the Lemongrass marination worked. The Anchovies were terribly hard to the bite and the Rice lacked the 'Santan' aroma. Likewise for the Tom Yum Chicken, we thought it was a misnomer. The Fried Chicken Chop itself was delicious and perfectly fried with crispy edges but the Tom Yum sauce barely registered any Tom Yum flavor. Probably a good idea to go for other types of sauces. Some hits and misses but given the generous food portion, we thought the place is still worth a go.
