Step into Loong Fong Cafe and you will be instantly transported back to 30-40 years ago as the place is full of antiques and old decoration. You will find plenty of retro knick-knacks here, making it photo-worthy. This is also one of the reasons how this place gained fame since its opening late May 2023. The cafe offers a menu with traditional Malaysian dishes; familiar items like Nasi Lemak, Kaya Butter Toasts, Kaya Balls, Char Bee Hoon are on offer. Also note-worthy is that this place is pet-friendly, you can bring along your canine friends for a meal here. But it is less accommodating for larger groups and the seating arrangement can be uncomfortable. Loong Fong Cafe is right next to Laksa Ong and Le Dux Patisserie on Beach Street.

If you intend to visit this place on weekends, it is advisable to schedule your visit early in the morning. We had to wait for quite a while for the food to serve. The Kaya Butter Toast was nothing out of the ordinary, in fact, we hope they can be more generous with the Kaya. The Steamed Kaya Butter Bread has a nicer soft-pillowy texture. We enjoyed the Char Bee Hoon though- expertly cooked with a delightful "wok hei", it worked perfectly with their Sambal. The Sang Mee (Deep Fried Egg Noodles in Gravy) on the other hand, was just alright. We thought the Egg Gravy was a little over-seasoned. We did not seem to enjoy this dish a lot. For sweet treats, we had the classic Kaya Balls... served to us piping hot and we thought they were nicely done. The Bee Koh Moy was a huge disappointment, both the Glutinous Rice Soup and the Coconut Milk were watered down, we could not taste the distinctive Bee Koh Moy flavor here... and no, we could not taste any Dried Longans in the Bee Koh Moy.
