Founded by a group of energetic and passionate Chefs, FAM Dining is one of the latest spots in town where you will get some quality modern European cuisine with a Japanese twist. Diners get to enjoy a prix-fixe menu or ala-carte in the evenings; while it usually operates only during dinner hours, the restaurant has extended its business hours to accommodate the brunch crowd on weekends... offering a weekend brunch menu (with smaller choices). The restaurant offers a classy-cozy seating with touch of elegance with a good flow of natural lighting. For those who wish to host private events, there are private dining rooms available too. FAM Dining can be found at Jalan Johor, opposite to Padang Brown.
Many Thanks to FAM Dining for hosting us.

Flavored Butter with Bread of the Day (Rm 15)
Matcha Crepe with Berries and Vanilla Ice Cream (Rm 32)
We started off with Flavored Butter and Bread of The Day- lovely spread of toasted Bread served with Burnt Miso Butter, Truffle with Active Charcoal Butter and Pesto Butter. We love the good mix of flavors, particularly the Burnt Miso with a hint of raw Onions for that extra pungent punch. We then had the Aburi Salmon Capellini. Served chilled, the dish reminded me of the Japanese Cold Ramen (Hiyashi Chuka) dish but in a different way. The Aburi Salmon was nicely torched on the surface but raw inside. The contrast in texture and flavors was what made this dish interesting.
For mains, we decided to go for their Unagi Carbonara Fettuccine and we were glad we did! The sauce was unlike anything we have tried! It was creamy but not overly so, with a mellow Parsley aroma and slightly Umami after taste. The Fettuccine was handmade by the Chef and the al-dente texture was lovely and most addictive. Probably one of the best Carbonara I've ever tried! The Sliced Beef Tenderloin Rice was nicely presented- with a generous serving of sliced Beef beautifully displayed atop of the buttered Fried Rice, complete with an Onsen Tamago and some Japanese pickles. The Beef was nicely cooked- reasonably seasoned, tender and delicious. The buttered Fried Rice felt a little overly dense for us, suitable to order as a sharing-dish.
We saved some room for dessert and we were happy with what we had. Not only did the Matcha Crepe with Berries and Vanilla Ice Cream was charmingly presented, the flavor combo worked. The Matcha Crepe was expertly done with a nice, chewy texture. A thin layer of Cream-Cheese like concoction was spread on the Matcha Crepe before being folded. A contenting dish to end the meal.
