Saigon Sisters Vietnamese Food @ Mount Erskine, Penang.

For a budget-friendly Vietnamese meal, make your way to Saigon Sisters at Mount Erskine. The place is obscure and not visible from the main streets. One needs to turn into the Mount Erskine market direction and keep driving up the hill, there is a small scale food court can be found on the right (named as Kompleks E-Garden). At the far end of the food court is Saigon Sisters Vietnamese Food, a newly opened Vietnamese eatery. Their signature dishes include Beef Pho, Banh Mi and crispy Pork Belly. Price points are generally lower than those established joints but the selection is limited.

Beef Pho (Rm 18)

Beef Banh Mi (Rm 12)

Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi (Rm 9.90)

Iced Lime Juice (Rm 5)

We had both Beef and Chicken Banh Mi, we prefer the latter one. The Lemongrass seasoning was lovely and the Chicken was expertly cooked to perfection. The Banh Mi was a little dry but the filling rescued the dish. The Lemongrass aroma was bold and we did enjoy the dish. The Beef version paled when in comparison with Chicken, the seasoning was milder and the texture was hard. The Beef was not as tender as expected. For main, the Beef Pho was delicious either. They were very generous with the Beef and the broth was clean on the palate, it was a tummy-comforting concoction.
