唰唰乐火锅 (Shua-shua Le Steamboat Restaurant) @ Prangin Mall, Penang.

Although I have a several places coming to my mind when it comes to having Tom Yum, however, the one in Shua-shua Le still prevails in my opinion. The Tom Yum soup has a very delectable and extreme sweet and sour flavor and it works perfectly with their specially made chili sauce which increase the flavor to other whole new stage. It is not advisable for those who cannot really take spicy food. The restaurant is very easy to locate, its in the middle of Atrium A and Atrium B of third floor at Prangin Mall, Penang. They have expanded their business, it should be easier to locate than previously. This steamboat outlet is very famous among the students/teenagers too, you will notice a lot of youngsters patronizing this restaurant. You will smell the piquant aroma of the Tom Yum when you are walking towards the restaurant. The set up for the tables in the restaurant was quite narrow. They do serve other noodles dishes too besides steamboat but they are rather pricey in my opinion, especially their steamboat set and their drinks cost a bomb too. Moreover, there will be a 10% service charge added to your bill. However, this place is definitely a "must-visit" for Tom Yam lovers.

Tom Yum Instant Noodles (Rm7.30). The portion was very very small and its not recommended for big eaters. In fact, a normal guy will find the portion too small too. It comes with two fish balls and two pieces of shrimps. The shrimps were not that fresh but were decent. The texture of the instant noodles was just nice, as in not soggy nor too raw.

Personal Set (Set A, Rm 24.80) comes with a small portion of beef slices, a noodles (your choice of rice noodles, yellow noodles, glass noodles, white rice etc) and a place consists of various types of ingredients such as shrimps, chicken meat, squid, fish balls, mushrooms, cabbage, egg etc.....The set will be sufficient for one person. However, if you wish to savor this set with an additional person, you will need to pay an extra Rm2. It will be more worth it since the small Tom Yum instant noodles cost Rm7.30. You can always add on for some extra ingredients like noodles. Each portion of extra noodles, be it instant noodles, are priced at Rm2.50 each.

Their beef slices were perfectly sliced into perfect portion. Simply dip them into the hot soup and cook for a few seconds, the beef will be ready. It will be overcooked if you are trying to cook for too long due to the thickness of the beef. It works perfectly well with the chili sauce too.

Sauce is the key factor in determining whether the steamboat a success or failure. You will be provided a small tray which consists of two types of chilies. The usual chopped green chilies and their specially made chili sauce. The chili sauce was very good indeed, spicy and sourish at a suitable level, just nice to my liking. Recommended for chili lovers.
