Nanya Western Kitchen 南雅西厨 @ Abu Siti Lane, Georgetown, Penang.

Located along the quieter stretch of Nanya Western Cuisine, this spot offers a dual-concept menu that shifts with the day—serving a more local, oriental-leaning selection in the mornings before transitioning into Western dishes in the evenings, giving it a broader appeal across different dining preferences. The space itself is air-conditioned and comfortably set up, making it a pleasant option for a relaxed meal away from the usual heat. Prices remain reasonable, while the morning offerings in particular stand out for their consistency and well-executed flavours, delivering a dependable start to the day. Overall, it feels like a practical neighbourhood choice that balances variety, comfort, and reliability without leaning overly ambitious.

Nanya Fried Laksa (Rm 13.50)

Dumpling Noodles (Rm 15.50)

Aromatic Spicy Curry Prawn Nasi Lemak (Rm 16.50)

Half Boiled Eggs (Rm 3.50)

Nanya Milk Tea (Rm 5.50)

Homemade Roselle Tea (Rm 5.50)

We started off with an unusual encounter- the Stir Fried Laksa... which was basically stir fried Laksa-styled Vermicelli Noodles. The dish has got no Penang Laksa elements at all, more like Char Koay Teow but replacing the flat Rice Noodles with the Vermicelli Noodles. Having said that, we thought it was beautifully cooked with a delightful Wok Hei and reasonably seasoned. The texture was lovely and more marks given to the fresh, bouncy Prawns. Similarly, the Nasi Lemak was really good too. It is hard to come by really "lemak" or creamy Nasi Lemak these days, especially with the bold aromatics. The Sambal was alright but would be even better with a stronger chili kick. The Wan Ton Noodles were alright- nothing disappoints.
