Kafe Dapor Rumah @ Bishop Street, Georgetown, Penang.

Occupying the former AIA Training Academy space at Bishop Street, Kafe Dapor Rumah dishes out a comforting kopitiam-style menu in a cozy, air-conditioned setting. Alongside the usual staples, highlights include Curry Laksa, Nasi Ayam Penyet, and Mee Udang. Prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for a quick and satisfying local fix in town.

Curry Laksa (Rm 18.90)

[Breakfast] Breakfast Kickstart (Rm 9.90)

[Breakfast] Steamed Nyonya Bun Set (Rm 10.90)

The breakfast offering starts as early as 8 am and ends at 10 am daily. Though the selection is limited, it offers better values for those looking for a quick, light fix. The Steamed Nyonya Bun was pretty much like a Bao with no fillings but to enjoy with Kaya and Butter... pretty straight-forward. The Kaya Butter Toast was nothing out of the ordinary but it did not disappoint either. Every order of the Breakfast Set comes with a drink (Coffee or Tea). We also had the Curry Laksa with Vermicelli Noodles. The Noodles were perfectly cooked and the broth was creamy but it lacked of the X factor. My guess would be the Sambal which could really give the noodle dish a boost or oomph. The place has ample free parking space, making it ideal for a cozy breakfast in the heart of the banking district.
