Madam Priya's House of Curries @ Georgetown, Penang.

Known for hearty curries and comforting South Indian classics, Madam Priya’s House of Curries has opened a new branch in George Town, right along Beach Street. Originally from Butterworth, this spot brings signature dishes like Banana Leaf rice, biryani, and a variety of flatbreads to the heart of Penang. A good spot to stop by for comfort food after exploring Little India’s bustling Market Street. It is notable that the restaurant is air-conditioned and offers comfortable dining space.

Vege Banana Leaf Meal (Rm 13.90)

Plain Naan (Rm 5)

Cheese Naan (Rm 7)

Egg Sambal (Rm 2.50 each)

Hot Counter- Chicken Curry Perattal (Rm 12)

Chicken Masala (Rm 15)

Mixed Vege with North Indian Curry (Rm 13)

Salt Lassi (Rm 7.50)

Mango Lassi (Rm 9)

The basic Banana Leaf starts at RM13.90 and it is vegetarian-friendly. It goes with the usual curries as well as condiments that I cannot name. Diners will have the option to top up with Hot Counter Specials and we had the Tofu Sambal, Egg Sambal and Curry Perattal. None of them disappoint and they certainly added extra marks to the Banana Leaf. We've also opted for extra orders- Chicken Masala and Mixed Vege with North Indian Curry. Both were delicious and expertly cooked. The seasoning was spot on and spooned well over rice. The Naan was alright, though not the best ones around but they were freshly cooked and certainly fluffy-soft in texture. The Cheese Naan was not as cheesy as I would have hoped though.
