A new addition to Taman Pekaka, Fujian Min Cuisine quietly opens its doors with a focus on comforting Fujian (or Hokkien) fare. During its soft-launch phase, the restaurant introduces a small menu that pays homage to traditional Fujian flavors, expect to see really classic Fujian dishes like Oysters Pancake, braised Seafood Noodles or Stew Rice etc. The interior is clean and welcoming, with well-spaced tables offering a comfortable dining environment for groups and families alike.
Seafood Braised Noodles 福见卤面 (Rm 18.80/ small)
Minnan Style Stew Rice 闽南咸饭 (Rm 19.80)
Oyster Pancake 海蛎煎 (Rm 22.80/ small)
One of the signature dishes, the Oyster Pancake was filled with a generous amount of fresh Oysters and cooked with starch (without Egg). The edges were crispy and the Oysters were fresh and juicy. Seasoning was a little weak so we had to rely on the Chili sauce for that extra kick. The Seafood Braised Noodles had loads of Oysters and Prawns too, with some Pork Belly. The noodles were silky smooth but not al-dente (nor slouchy). Some Shallot Oil was added. But we thought it was slightly under seasoned, as much as we enjoyed the generous amount of Seafood. Same for the Stew Rice, almost like premium version of Yam Rice (sans the Yam). It has Dried Scallop, Pumpkin, Shitake Mushrooms and Carrots; a recognizable flavor profile but with a subtle surprise.
