Light Stone Restaurant 轻石代's second branch opens at Sunshine Central, occupying a prominent spot at the main atrium (level 4). They first started in Iconic Point, Simpang Ampat; offering healthy food options to the public. According to their statement on social media, they use minimal amount of salt, sugar and oil in their cooking. At first glance, the menu does look like Mama Kim's signature Sauna Noodles but with slightly more options. The menu also includes Nasi Lemak, Brown Rice Set Meals and some Western dishes; suitable for diners of all age range and a good choice for family eat-outs.
To be fair- all choices start with the same broth, which I presume its a vegetable-broth (unlimited refills). The only difference will be the toppings, depending on your orders- it can be fresh Fish, fried Chicken, fried Fish, Vegetarian or Seafood. It was quite bland at first but as the ingredients simmered through time, the flavor became apparent. We relied a lot on the Chili paste which really worked well with the toppings. We enjoyed the Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang too, the Chicken Rendang was beautifully cooked with a great depth of flavors.
Taste: 7.5/10 (1-3 bad, 4-7 average, 8-10 good)
Address: No. 8-3A-18, Level 4, Sunshine Central, Jalan Thean Teik, 11500, Bandar Baru Ayer Itam, Penang.
