Previously occupied as Azuma Japanese Restaurant, Tazaa Arabic Restaurant took over the prominent lot at Juru Sentral; introducing Middle-Eastern flavors to the Bukit Mertajam folks. You may have heard of the name Tazaa, it first started in Butterworth area and expanded its business operations to Bukit Mertajam. The menu is identical and you can never go wrong with grilled meat over spices, flatbreads, Hummus, salads etc. The branch at Juru Sentral offers a cozy, spacious dining environment... suitable for any occasions.

Expect generous serving portion at Tazaa, with each order of grilled meat to come with a serving of the Yemeni Mulawah Bread so do plan your orders accordingly. We ended up having 8 pieces of those gigantic Mulawah Bread. The Yemeni Mulawah Bread is basically grease-free Roti Canai, pretty similar in terms of texture and aroma. We enjoy their Hummus- extremely rich and thick, the Hummus was expertly seasoned and worked well with the flatbread. The Baba Ghanoush was served with Balsamic Vinegar, slightly different than the usual version. The Grilled Chicken was a little too dry to our liking, though the spices and seasonings worked their magic, the meat was a little too rough. The Shish Kebab on the other hand, was delicious. The Beef was juicy and tender, we enjoyed our share with the Mulawah Bread and some Cucumber Yogurt-like sauce; the combination was lip-smacking. The Lamb Mandy Quarter was alright too- though some of us thought the meat was a little too dry to their liking, most of us like how the meat was spiced and seasoned.
