A new urban development project by the E&O Group, the man-made island is currently under development but things are moving rapidly on the island. The place is now open to the public and right next to the property showroom is Moonshine Bakehouse. The newly opened cafe occupies a sweet spot and offers magnificent view over the artificial island (and back to the mainland). View-aside, the cafe has a small menu... mainly on some simple brunch items, pastries, desserts and drinks. It's a nice spot for casual meet ups over light meals. To go to Pulau Andaman, make your way to the new link bridge right next to Straits Quay Retail Marina. Register at the guardhouse and you will gain access to the island, simply follow the signage and drive towards the Showroom. The cafe is right next to the Showroom (literally a stone's throw distance away).
Sausage Mostarda Brioche (Rm 22)
Smoky Jerk Chicken on Sourdough (Rm 26)
Homemade Focaccia (Rm 15)
Calamansi Lavender Tart (Rm 17)
The cafe was very busy on our visit and it did take them a while to serve our orders. We started off with the Homemade Focaccia Bread, served with Raspberry Jam and Smoked Anchovies Butter. The Focaccia was expertly toasted to a nice crisp texture, both Raspberry Jam and Butter worked well with the Focaccia... but the serving portion was a little small to justify for the price. For something more substantial, we had the Sausage Mostarda Brioche and Smoky Jerk Chicken on Sourdough. Both were equally good; we enjoyed the firm and meaty texture of the homemade Sausage and thought the Apple Mostarda worked well with the meat. Smoky Jerk Chicken on Sourdough was alright, at least it did not disappoint (my partner in crime thought the Chicken was a tad too dry to her liking). We ended the meal with Calamansi Lavender Tart, a refreshing yet creative treat.
