Chez Chez Bar Restaurant @ Love Lane, Georgetown, Penang.

Cocktail lovers would be excited to learn that there is a new addition: Chez Chez, modern-contemporary bar and restaurant to the ever-happening Love Lane in central Georgetown. Step in the place and you will be welcomed by a bar counter, showcasing an array of liquors; go in a little further and you will find the dining hall where tables and chairs are well-spaced to allow privacy and comfort. While the Cocktail list is impressive, the food menu is equally exciting. It has a fairly big Western menu (with a European flair) with a couple of local classics. Budget-watchers take note, the price points are on the higher side.

Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken (Rm 22)

We started off with Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken- creamy dressing with the right touch of cheesiness. Plus point is the addition of Anchovies... for the Umami flavor but what we did not quite like- the Salad was too saucy. The greens were literally drowning in the sauce towards the end. Not that it was bad but can be better. The Truffle Pasta on the other hand, was quite something. The freshly made Fettuccine possessed the addictive al-dente texture and the dish was bursting with the earthy, nutty Truffle aroma. The cream sauce just clung on the pasta perfectly, it might be a little heavy for one to finish it entirely though. We also found ourselves enjoying the Chez Chez Burger, with a medium Beef Patty, the texture was lovely- firm, juicy, meaty and expertly seasoned. We enjoyed the Burger with the caramelized Onions but thought the Cheese overkilled the dish as it was a tad too salty to our liking (together with the Cheese)... also, very generous portion... possibly fit for 2 small eaters.
