Bottega at Muntri Street is one of the latest spots in town to get your Italian fix; Italian food lovers would not be new to the brand as Bottega has long-standing presence in Kuala Lumpur. Apart from offering an Italian menu, the restaurant is also an Italian Delishop... selling various imported Italian goodies. The menu at this trattoria is quite big, featuring an array of Italian dishes- from Italian Charcuterie board to Italian-styled Toasts, Pasta, Pizza, Meat dishes as well as Dessert. Business has been very good at Bottega Penang with full bookings on peak hours and long weekends (probably they have limited seating); so if you are planning to have a meal here, do make sure you make your booking first.
Pizza and Pasta are popular at this buzzy restaurant and almost every diner would have a plate of these on their table. We tried the classic Margherita Pizza and thought it was alright, it did not really wow us but we thought it was a decent Margherita Pizza. The dough was okay but we would prefer generous amount of Cheese and equally generous Tomato base. Also, the fresh Basils... we only found a couple of them floating on the Pizza. Risottino was surprisingly a disappointment... while we liked the al-dente texture of the Risotto, we thought the dish was monotonous and lacked of something to cut through the creaminess. Fortunately, the dessert was lovely. We enjoyed the Family-Recipe Tiramisu- creamy with strong Coffee flavor but very light and easy on the palate, the sweetness was well-balanced as well.
