The Ryujin Dining 龍の料理 @ Juru Sentral, Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

Can't decide whether to go for Chinese food or Japanese delights? You can have both at The Ryujin Dining 龍の料理, Juru Sentral as the menu consists of both Chinese and Japanese dishes. The Japanese-styled decor may give you a wrong impression that the place is a typical Japanese restaurant but the menu speaks otherwise. Some of the dishes are Japanese-inspired but incorporating some Chinese elements. The menu is fairly big but the price points are on the higher side. Price-apart, we thought the food quality was top-notch and value for money. If you plan to dine-in here in a big group, do make advance booking especially on weekends.

We started off strong with the Salmon Sashimi and Apple Salad as well as the Sushi Rolls; we were happy with the freshness and the serving portion was pretty generous. The dressing of the Salad was nothing out of the ordinary though but the freshness of the Salad spoke for itself. We were most amazed by their Seafood Fried Noodles and X.O. Seafood Fried Rice; both dishes were beyond amazing and packed with Wok Hei. The Seafood Fried Noodles were the champion of the evening, not only that the seasoning was spot on backed by the right smokiness, the texture was lovely. Same for X.O. Seafood Fried Rice, Japanese short Grain Rice was used instead... so the texture was chewier and more addictive. The remaining dishes were great and none of them were disappointing. We'd love to come back to try more of their dishes.
