One of the best places to get a satisfying, inexpensive traditional treats in the Farlim neighborhood is Mommy Irene. Previously located in one of the residential houses, Mommy Irene has since relocated to one of the shop houses along Lintang Angsana. Apart from the relocation, the restaurant has also expanded its menu as well as revising its business operation hours. More tummy-filling items are added to the menu as well as home-cooked desserts but retaining the wallet-friendly price tags.

Mommy Irene's signature Tom Yum Bee Hoon and Nasi Lemak are some of the best-selling tummy fillers. For the Nasi Lemak, diners can look forward to a serving of creamy, fragrant rice served with Fried Chicken, Deep Fried Anchovies, Peanuts, Hard-Boiled Egg and importantly, their home-made Sambal. While the expertly marinated and cooked Fried Chicken can be addictive, the real draw of the dish is the sweat-inducing, slightly-sweet Sambal which blend everything together. The concoction of the Sambal, a spoonful of the Nasi Lemak and Anchovies with Peanuts makes a good definition of what a standard Malaysian Nasi Lemak should taste like. Like-wise, the Stir Fried Tom Yum Bee Hoon is the all-time favorites of many regular patrons. The Bee Hoon itself is very flavorful but for those who are seeking for an extra touch may go for its special edition- with Fried Chicken and Sambal. For something more stomach-comforting, try their Wan Ton Soup... for the generously-filled Dumplings and hearty soup. For a sweet ending, go for their traditional Desserts like Bubur Pulut Hitam, Gingko Barley etc.
