Bukit Genting Hill Thai Restaurant @ Balik Pulau, Penang.

Bukit Genting Hill Thai Restaurant should not be new to Thai food lovers, the Thai restaurant located at the top of the hill of Balik Pulau is one of the most visited Thai restaurants at Balik Pulau. The restaurant has been there for many years. Many adventurous travelers would travel miles up the hill (approximately 15 minute drive from Balik Pulau town) to enjoy the breath-taking scenery and sumptuous Thai food. The narrow-winding road up the hill can be a little tricky to drive especially to new visitors so do plan your trip before the night falls. The restaurant has a big Thai menu featuring many Thai classics but the price points are on the higher side.

Tom Yum Seafood (Rm 40/ small)

Claypot Glass Noodles with Seafood (Rm 30)

Seafood Otak-Otak (Rm 24)

The Tom Yum Seafood seems to be one of the most ordered dishes. The portion was very big for the 2 of us. It has a good balanced medley of sweet, sour and spicy notes; there were generous loads of Seafood as well. We would however, prefer the Tom Yum to be spicier. The Seafood Otak-Otak was alright- with a bold eggy and coconut milk flavor... the seasonings were alright but it was quite monotonous towards the end. The Claypot Glass Noodles with Seafood was quite a let down, the seasonings were weak and the dish was very flat. Generally, we thought the serving portions were very big (too big for the 2 of us). Quality-wise, we thought the dishes were pretty average and nothing out of the ordinary; we can find better Thai food in town without traveling up the hill (save for the hilltop scenery).
