Jim's Hailam Char @ Lebuh Macallum, Georgetown, Penang.

** This place is permanently closed.**

If you are up for some classic Hailam Char (Hainanese Stir Fry Noodles), look no further than Jim's place. Jim's Hailam Char at Lebuh Macallum is fairly new but the name paints a clear picture that the place specializes in Hailam Char... Hainanese Stir Fry Noodles. The menu is small, only limited to a few stir fry choices (both noodles and rice) with side orders available for sharing. More like a comfortable, air-conditioned place for a solid meal instead of novelty dining experience.

Dry Char Hor Fun (Rm 10.90/ with Egg)

Jim's Signature Hailam Char with Hotate (Rm 16.90)

Hokkien Char (Rm 10.90/ with Egg)

Iced Chrysanthemum (Rm 2.80) and Soy Milk (Rm 3.80)

None of the dishes we had at Jim's disappoint- the Dry Char Hor Fun left us with the deepest impression. The much desired Wok Hei was bold and the dish was not greasy at all (despite heaps of Pork Lards were added). Everything was expertly done but for the additional topping of Egg, we would prefer a Sunny Side Up instead. Both Hailam Char and Hokkien Char did not leave us with a very deep impression, we thought they were average-okay.
