OMG Crab @ Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang.

Korean Soy Marinated Crab (Kanjang Kejang) is considered an exotic Korean delicacy; despite its popularity in South Korea, it is still quite an uncommon dish in Penang. OMG Crab was believed to be one of the first to bring in this delicacy; the brand has strong presence in central region but now expanded to northern... opening a branch at Gurney Paragon Mall. The menu is very limited- only offering its best.... Soy Sauce Marinated Seafood; those who expect for a Korean feast might be slightly disappointed. The price points can be on the higher side considering the portion, more like a place for novelty experience than absolute taste. OMG Crab can be found few shops away from Sushi Zanmai of Gurney Paragon Mall.

We had 2 different sets out the 4 different set options- the Kajang Jeongsik and Yeoneojang Jeongsik; the only difference in both was the Crab and Salmon. Both sets came with some Seaweed, a bowl of Rice and a serving of Kimchi. The portion was quite small to be frank; the Kimchi was great but the Rice could be better cooked, a little too soft and mushy to our liking. As for the Soy Marinated Crab and Salmon, we liked the latter one better. The Salmon was thickly cut and went well with everything. Not that the Crab was bad but the size was small and we could not taste the Crab roe which was supposed to be the highlight. There were not much meat either. To add on to our experience, we also had a side order of their OMG Crab Spicy Crabs which offered a totally different flavor as compared to the Soy-marinated version. The spicy sauce was nicely done and went well with rice; nonetheless, the Crab size was still too small with limited meat.
