Picco Polo Cafe @ Beach Street, Georgetown, Penang.

One of the latest additions to Georgetown is Picco Polo Cafe, a cafe that got its name from its signature offering- Polo Bun but it is not a one trick pony, the cafe offers a big Western menu (with a couple of Malaysian delights) as well. Polo Bun may paint a picture that the cafe has a Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng interior decor but in actual fact, Picco Polo Cafe has a modern, chic interior. The price points might be on the higher side but given the cozy atmosphere and versatile menu, the place is worth checking out.

Egg Benedict (Rm 19.90)

Mushroom Truffle Pasta (Rm 23.90)

Matcha Polo Bun (Rm 7.90)

Instead of the regular Polo Bun, we tried their Matcha Polo Bun and we were contented with the pillowy, sweet crispy crust bun. But the Matcha flavor was too mild, at least not as discernible as we would have hoped. For Rm 7.90, we thought it was slightly over-priced. Both mains were quite small in portion- the Egg Benedict however, was quite good. The Eggs were perfectly poached and served on two pieces of tiny, hard and chewy toasted bread. We would have enjoyed more if they could serve something more pillowy and bigger in portion. Mushroom Truffle Pasta was alright, the earthy flavor was bold and the Spaghetti was al-dentely cooked... our only complain- the portion.
