Satisfy your tummy at one of the latest hot pot restaurants in town- Feng Wang Fu Hot Pot 凤王府火锅 at Gurney Paragon Mall. This new addition offers Sze Chuan-styled Mala Hot Pot along with other soul-comforting broths. The bold Chinese decor instantly brings you back to ancient China- from the seating arrangement to knick-knacks adorning the walls. The menu is quite extensive with various meat and seafood (missing Chicken though), service is most attentive at Feng Wang Fu but do expect the price points to be above average- expect to pay an average of Rm 80 per pax for a meal here.

The signature Mala soup carries a powerful punch but for those with lower heat tolerance, opt for the less-spicy version. We had the "standard" one and it was flavorful. But there was a thick layer of Chili Oil floating just like any Sze Chuan Mala Hot Pot. Feng Wang Fu did a good job here by providing white bread for diners to soak up excess oil. On top of the Mala soup, the Beauty Fish maw Golden Soup was our favorite... though the Tomato Soup was not too shabby either. As for the accompanying Hot Pot ingredients- all were fresh and generously served. We recommend trying their Fresh Beef Slice... thickly sliced and very fresh, perfect if cooked over the Mala soup. Another must try item is the Home Made Noodles, al-dente and absolutely satisfying.
