Heh Cafe @ Air Hitam, Penang.

Found in an unusual spot of Air Hitam... a stone's throw distance away from the entrance to Kek Lok Si, Heh Cafe is one of the latest hang out spots in the neighborhood. The cafe is very spacious and cozy inside, with minimalist design and a lot of windows to allow natural light to bask in. The seating capacity is quite big but not all tables are comfortable, some stools can be unbelievably low and uncomfortable so that entirely depends on your luck (it's perfectly fine if you are just ordering drinks). On the food offering, it has a display fridge and corner that showcase all the pastries and cakes available- from Tarts, Cakes, Brownies to French Pastries. No mains are offered though. Quite a cozy space for a drink but the choices can be a little limited.

Strawberry Tartlet (Rm 16.90)

Basque Burnt Cheese Cake (Rm 14.90)

Mango Snow Daifuku (Rm 12.90)

Croissant with Cream Cheese (Rm 6.50)

Signature Soda (Rm 14)

Start with the Basque Burnt Cheese Cake- probably the fridge was not properly tuned to the right temperature but the texture of the cake was overly soft and mushy. The Cheese flavor was discernible but not so much on the burnt-caramelized flavor. Likewise, the Mango Snow Daifuku had the same problem. The texture was unreasonably soft instead of the chewy-stretchy Mochi texture. The flavor combo did not shine either. Also, we thought it was pretty overpriced for that portion. The Strawberry Tartlet and Croissant were alright but definitely nothing to shout about.
