La Fiesta @ Sky Avenue, Resorts World Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Set on the long-stretch of restaurants on the first floor of the lifestyle mall at Sky Avenue Genting Highlands, La Fiesta is a convivial spot filled with Spanish Hams, Tapas and Wines. Step in the restaurant and be instantly transported to Europe... the low-lit railway arch, hanging lights, wooden wine racks and a display of Spanish Hams near the entrance; suggesting diners to embrace its authentic Spanish atmosphere. Despite the heavy decoration, the food and drinks menu is serious. There are ample choices for wine lovers and even more for Spanish food aficionados. It covers a range of Tapas (including its signature Iberico) to Paellas and ends with choices of Spanish sweet treats. Albeit the serious setting, the items are competitively priced; watch out for the occasional promotions if you are on a tight budget.

Many Thanks to Resorts World Genting for the arrangements.

Black Seafood Paella (Rm 95 for Members/ Rm 105 for Non-Members)

Patatas Bravas- Potatoes with Spicy Tomato Sauce (Rm 18 for Members/ Rm 20 for Non-Members)

Pulpo a Feira- Octopus with Paprika Potatoes (Rm 45 for Members/ Rm 49 for Non-Members)

Tortilla de Patatas- Spanish Potato Omelette served slightly chilled (Rm 16 for Members/ Rm 18 for Non-Members)

Jamon Iberico- Spanish Ham (Rm 42 for Members/ Rm 46 for Non-Members)

The Tapas were served beautifully that defies our expectation, even a simple one like Patatas Bravas- the cubes Potatoes were arranged neatly and served with small dollops of Mayonnaise and spicy Tomato sauce. A Spanish meal is not complete without Seafood. Their Pulpo a Feira did not disappoint, although slightly over-seasoned, we trust it would work fine with the aid of alcohol. The magical potion would work equally well with their range of Iberico as well.

Do not leave La Fiesta without trying their Paellas. We had the Black Seafood Paella, al-dentely cooked Spanish rice that have fully absorbed the essence of the Sea, topped with Squid and Prawns. The Paella was beyond amazing, it possessed the delightful smoky-charred aroma backed by a bold seafood sweetness. It was very delicious on its own but even better with a squeeze of the Lemon juice for the extra zing. Such meal for 3 costs a little over Rm 200, not too bad for a restaurant at such league we reckon (especially at Genting Highlands).
