Teapoint Cafe @ Armenian Street Heritage Hotel, Carnavon Street, Georgetown, Penang.

Nestled within the newly opened Armenian Street Heritage Hotel, Teapoint Cafe is a Taiwanese franchised cafe that opened its doors few weeks ago. The humble little cafe offers drinks- coffee and tea at very affordable prices. Flavors are somewhat unique here but the drawback could be the limited space within the cafe, seating is estimated to be less than 6 within the cafe and not more than 15 in total (including outside of the cafe). The little cafe exudes a relaxed vibe and offers a comfortable pit stop for tired tourists or locals to stretch the legs after a long heritage walk around the tourist hot spots at Armenian street.

Quench your thirst with this intriguing Potted Mango Milk Shake (盆栽芒果奶昔/ Rm 8.90); similarly to Potted Tiramisu being offered in many places, the Milk Shake will be covered with Cocoa Powder instead. The icy cold Mango Milk Shake was surprisingly balanced in terms of sweetness, the addition of Cocoa Powder definitely adds an interesting twist to the otherwise expected flavors. However, the Mango flavor was too mild to be discerned as though I was drinking an ordinary Milk Shake. Other interesting choices for their Potted series will be Potted Latte and Potted Rose Milk Tea.

Banana lovers might want to check out their Banana Chocolate Ice Blended (香蕉巧克力冰沙/ Rm 7.90) which comes with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream drizzled with Chocolate Syrup. No doubt the drink tasted sweeter than the previous one but the Banana flavor comes in stronger too. A very sinful drink but worth the calories.

Integrated Milk Tea (综合水果茶/ Rm 6.90)

While you are in the cafe, do ask for their daily bakes. We had their Banana Muffin and Cinnamon Carrot Muffin (Rm 2.50 each) which were freshly out of the oven. The Cinnamon Carrot Muffin was moist but not cloyingly sweet, the addition of Almond flakes and Raisins does add an interesting texture to the muffin. A rather worth-trying item in the cafe, particularly for that price.
