Get' Em Smack Cafe @ Times Square, Penang.

If you have patronized Penang Times Square recently, you would have noticed about this cafe -- Get' Em Smack. Their dessert displaying outside caught my first attention and coincidentally I had the chance to try on some of their dishes today. Get' Em Smack is a cafe with a very cozy ambiance which suitable for chit-chatting sessions, friends gathering etc. Aside from serving delectable and mouth-watering spaghetti, they do serve some unique dessert as well such as crepe, cakes and some imported English tea. Their spaghetti dishes were very impressive indeed as they do serve their spaghetti in a much different way than others, some special ones are Mascarpone Cheese Walnut spaghetti, Pesto Spaghetti and Eryngii Mushroom Spaghetti etc....Most importantly, all of the spaghetti dishes come in a generous portion which was said to be fixed at 180g of spaghetti per plate.

Starting off with the soup of the day (Mushroom soup, Rm5.90). The portion was just okay but the soup was rather thick, it definitely satisfies your appetite as in the mushroom soup has a very thick and creamy flavor and I was told that they have used at least 3 types of mushroom in this soup.

This Eryngii Mushroom Spaghetti (Rm13.90) is definitely my favorite spaghetti of the day among the 3 choices. The Eryngii mushroom was sliced and pan fried to perfection, the mushroom carries a very unique and irresistible aroma that works perfectly well with olive oil and some parsley. The texture of the spaghetti was just right to complement with the crispy Eryngii mushroom. Highly recommended.

Mascarpone Cheese Walnut spaghetti (Rm13.90) was definitely very unique and special to me, which they are normally used in the making of Tiramisu. The sauce was very creamy and rich, reasonably flavored with a top of chopped walnut and parsley. No doubt, the cheesy flavor was very strong and I would not recommend this to those who do not adore the cheesy or milky flavor.

Prawn Aglio Olio (Rm13.90), the use of chopped garlic, butter, dried chilies and parsley makes a very good combination in this dish. I have always been a fan of Aglio Olio pasta series and this was very delicious and suitable for me indeed. The spaghetti was not too oily and the spiciness was just right to increase and brings out the flavor and soul of the whole dish; not to forget the fresh prawns topped on the dish too. Recommended.

Roast Chicken (Rm13.90) comes with 2 side dishes, potato salad and some fresh greens. The potato salad was mashed and mixed well with some carrots and cucumber slices and perfectly flavored. Chicken thigh was used and as a result, the meat was very tender and juicy, a scoop of gravy will then be topped on the chicken. Unfortunately the portion was not enough to satisfy my big tummy.

A meal is not complete without a dessert to top it off, Crepe Cake (Rm6.90) has a lot of fruits in it, namely, banana, strawberries, mango etc. The texture was very soft and creamy but it was not too sweet, in fact, it was rather refreshing due to the use of a lot of freshly chopped fruits. Just a perfect dessert to call off the meal.

I have yet to try out their tiramisu yet, but they do seem very tempting and mouth-watering to me, how about you ?

Get' Em Smack uses imported tea bags -- Twinings which based in United Kingdom to serve their customers. Each pot of tea was priced at Rm8.90.
