"555" Steamboat Kitchen @ Burmah Road

I am pretty sure that most of the facebook users have recently heard of this newly rise group or company in selling online vouchers known as ezi voucher on facebook. So i get to know this restaurant via ezi voucher on facebook too, so apparently ezi voucher was selling the vouchers for this restaurant at a promotional price and it gets sold out in a very short moment!!!! Their bookings were full until tuesday, apparently their grand opening falls on 5th of May, which suits their name--"555". So the restaurant is located just a few shop houses away from Union primary school in Burmah Road, Penang. The place is a bit unfriendly for parking especially during peak hours like 6.30pm.

The interior of the restaurant is pretty cossy and their air-conditioner is superb, i just love to have this kind of cold temperature around when i am having steamboat.

The place was very clean and tidy the time we arrived.

Unfortunately there were 5 types of sauces available for us only, they were the chili sauce, tomato ketchup, soya sauce+green chili, sweet sauce and sambal.

While waiting for the steamboat to get ready, you can opt for some fried rice too, the fried rice was decent and its just perfect for you to get a little bit start off. Well, they provide 2 types of soup bases for their customers. 1 of them being the tom yum and the other being the fish soup. The ingredients offered were as follows:

Some examples of the steamboat ingredients displayed. I was amazed with the numbers of seafood available, especially the clamps which they had a few types of them. Crabs and prawns were there too although the prawns were that fresh today, but others were perfectly okay.

The crabs should be inserted to the soup in the early stage as it seriously adds some natural sweetness to the soup, the flavour gets stronger when you boil them in a longer time, recommended.

These were the seafood offered tonight, the choices were considerably a lot compared to other steamboat outlets in Penang.

Of course, they do provide normal stuff that we can find in steamboat like those fish balls and tofu. Pork is served in this restaurant, another recommendation from my friends was the pork belly offered. *Pictures not available* where they actually pre-cooked the meat in some special way and the texture of the meat itself is very tender and juicy. Try ask from the friendly staff over there and i am pretty sure they'll help you out.

Drinks were pretty limited. They just have some cordial orange juice for the customers only. Desserts offered were red bean soup and ice cream sticks. Nothing worth mentioning about the ice cream sticks however, the red bean soup was superb. I like the texture of it where they blended in some "sago" to increase the smoothness of the soup and most importantly, it wasn't too sweet after all.

The services provided were superb, they are actually quite concerned about their customers as they request their customers for customers' feed backs and opinion surveys. Although there are still some improvements needed but i am pretty convinced that they will sort things out shortly. Most importantly, the price is fair enough for the amount and choices of seafood provided.
