Rollney Kurtos Kalacs @ Leith Street, Georgetown, Penang.

Penangites generally have a soft spot for desserts and one of the new kids on the block- Rollney brought us a sweet combination of Kurtos Kalacs and Soft Serve. The Hungarian spiral-like sweet bread should not be new for bread lovers, the Hungarian delicacy took the city by storm few years ago when it was first introduced in Penang. Rollney took it to a whole new level by combining Soft Serve with Kurtos Kalacs. Located at Leith Street, Rollney has a few choices on offer, but the menu revolves around either Kurtos Kalacs or Soft Serve. The plus is the cafe is pretty spacious... 2 floors, fully air-conditioned and offers a comfortable space for cafe explorers. A decent choice if you are looking for a place to hangout till as late as 11 pm.

All Kurtos Kalacs are freshly made to order. Rollney's version had a nice caramelized touch but can be a little hard to the bite, almost like biting into caramel crust. We had the original version so the sweetness was alright (bearable) but might not be the same for Cinnamon Sugar. Soft Serve flavors available were Vanilla and Matcha, we opted for the latter one. The Matcha flavor was weak but the sweetness was well-tuned. The whole combination did not feel overly saccharine sweet but might be too surfeited for one to finish entirely. The portion is sharing-intended. Not bad but not outstanding either (standard-average).
