Mr. Churro @ Gurney Plaza, Penang.

The first churreria in Penang- Mr. Churro has started their business operations over the weekend, the popular Korean Churros brand is famed for their Spanish crispy fried dough. Recommended for those with a sweet tooth, Mr Churro's creations are all dusted with Cinnamon Sugar and further paired with sweet goodies (such as Soft Serve or Chocolate drizzles). All Churros are freshly made on the spot. Business was brisk over the weekend but the wait was not long. Mr. Churro's kiosk can be found at Lower Ground floor of Gurney Plaza.

Nutty Churros (Rm 10.90)

Ice Cream Churros (Rm 13.90)

Those who crave a chocolaty-sugary fix should go for their Nutty Churros, soft-airy dough with crispy edges generously dusted with Cinnamon Sugar and drizzled over Chocolate, completed with a handful of crushed Peanuts. One of the simplest ways to enjoy the Spanish delicacy. The flavors were direct and frills-free. The Chocolate was thick, rich and creamy but not saccharine sweet; albeit just out of the wok, the Churros did not appear to be greasy at all.

For a touch of creaminess, go for their Ice Cream Churros- Vanilla Soft Serve served with Churros. The Soft Serve was smooth and as creamy as we like it to be but it was perhaps, a little too sweet for one to finish it entirely. Not too shabby for a change though I don't see this as a regular snack that I'd like to have.
