The Robin @ Pekaka Square, Sungai Dua, Penang.

The Robin at Pekaka Square is a comfortable spot for a casual brunch, with a well-spaced, air-conditioned dining area and comfortable seating. Its brunch menu covers familiar options such as Toast, Big Breakfast and Pasta, along with Japanese-inspired Don choices, offering a decent variety for different preferences. Prices are fairly reasonable considering the portions and setting, while the food was generally of good quality and well prepared. Overall, The Robin makes for a pleasant neighbourhood option for a leisurely brunch.

Volcano Salmon on Toast (Rm 22)

Lemon Butter Shrimp Pasta (Rm 27)

Nanban Chicken (Rm 20)

The Volcano Salmon On Toast was served on a fluffy, milky Milk Loaf, topped with Tobiko, beautifully cooked Scrambled Egg and flavourful Salmon flakes. There was a subtle hint of spiciness, with everything well seasoned and balanced. The Lemon Butter Shrimp leaned slightly buttery, but the fresh Shrimps, al-dente Spaghetti and generous fresh herbs worked well together, with the acidity from the lemon cutting through the richness. The Nanban Chicken came with tender meat and good flavours, although the Tartar Sauce could have been more flavourful with a better crunch. We found it worked particularly well when paired with rice.
