Yew Xin Yuan 游心园 @ Fifth Avenue Hotel, Georgetown, Penang.

Located at Fifth Avenue Hotel, Yew Xin Yuan 游心园’s second outlet introduces a proper main-meal menu for the first time, building on the brand’s wellness-focused identity (first branch in Sunshine Central Penang). The dishes centre around Chinese herbs and light, nourishing preparations, with seasoning kept intentionally mild — something that may appeal more to those seeking clean eating than robust flavours. Prices are on the premium side, but the comfortable seating and calm hotel setting make it a pleasant option for a fuss-free, health-driven dining experience.

Golden Cordyceps Nourishing Chicken with Rice 补气养身菌菇鸡 (Rm 30.30)

Herbal Fish Bak Kut Teh with Quinoa 南洋祛湿鱼宝汤 (Rm 30.40)

Complexion and Blood Nourishing Porridge 气血养颜粥 (Rm 10.90)

Herbal Eggs 养生茶叶蛋 (Rm 2.50 each)

Strengthening Stomach Mantou Toast 养胃烤馒头 (Rm 3.50)

Not everything on the menu was available on our visit. We had the signature Golden Cordyceps Nourishing Chicken, we topped up a little for the Rice and sides. The seasoning was mild but we could taste the bold herbaceous aroma. It was definitely an invigorating dish to start with. The Fish Bak Kut Teh was quite similar as well except the herbaceous factor was even bolder. It has this hint of fishiness in it. Probably our personal preference but we thought the dishes could be better if they were reasonably seasoned. The Mantou Toast was basically bland, we did not order the Soft Boiled Eggs though. Things may be better with the Soft Boiled Eggs.
