Located within the growing enclave of Bandar Tasek Mutiara, Simpang Ampat, Xi He Oriental 喜鹤 offers a more polished take on Chinese dining in a comfortable, modern setting. The space is spacious and pleasant, making it suitable for family meals or casual gatherings, though patience is required — waiting times can easily stretch to 30 minutes or more during busy hours. Prices remain reasonable given the quality and portion sizes, and while it may not be a destination spot, it is a dependable option if you’re in the area and don’t mind the wait.
Their signature dish is the Boneless Chicken with Rice, there is an option to choose between Oil Rice or ordinary White Rice. We opted for the former one. The Chicken was not too tough, though I would not say it was tender (we got the breast part). The condiments were spot on, especially the vinegared Garlic. Can't complain much for that price. The Spicy Dumplings Dry Noodle was not shabby too. The texture of the noodle was great, not al-dente but at least the bite was there. Nothing overly exciting on the Dumplings though. We also enjoyed the Cordyceps Flower Chicken Soup, which we thought it offered great values in return. The soup was reasonably seasoned and beautifully cooked. The rest of the dishes were nothing out of the ordinary.
