QiXi 柒憙黑铜卤肉饭 is a new addition to town, specialising in Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice (Lu Rou Fan). The interior is simple yet carries a distinct Taiwanese charm, with a bright and spacious setup that feels casual and welcoming. The only drawback is the lack of air-conditioning, which might be uncomfortable for those sensitive to heat. The menu is small but focused, featuring familiar Taiwanese comfort dishes — all reasonably priced with portions that match the value. A decent spot to satisfy your craving for a hearty bowl of authentic braised pork rice.
The QiXi Signature Braised Meat Rice was really good- reasonably seasoned with great flavors and worked well with the piping hot rice. It is a must to opt for extra condiments as it may get a little monotonous with just the Lu Rou Fan. Oddly, the Noodles did not fare as well as compared to the Rice. We enjoyed the al-dente texture but somehow the sauce did not manage to cling to the noodles. None of the condiments disappoint- quite a satisfying meal indeed.
