A new spot in the neighborhood, Happo brings a Japanese-inspired menu with a special focus on Chicken Ramen. While the menu isn’t extensive, the dishes are thoughtfully prepared, highlighting quality over quantity. The cozy dining atmosphere makes it an inviting place for a casual meal, and the comforting flavors of the ramen definitely make Happo worth checking out if you’re in the area.
We started with the Cold Tofu Salad- it was icy cold and definitely a surprise to us. But the flavor combo was amazing. It has this refreshing-acidic Yuzu element on top of the usual savory-sweet Japanese Shoyu, making it perfect for an appetizer. For mains, we had both the Ramen and Tempura Don. We thought the Ramen was delicious. The broth was rich and packed with flavors, it has this creamy texture that worked well with the springy Ramen noodles. Definitely ticked all the boxes for a bowl of good Ramen. The Tempura Don paled when in comparison, not so much on the Tempura itself but we thought it was rather dry towards the end. Personally, more Tempura sauce would elevate the dish more.
