Taipei 10 十号台北 @ E-Gate, Gelugor, Penang.

Located at E-Gate, Taipei 10 is a new addition offering an extensive Taiwanese-Chinese menu—from rice and noodles to stir-fried dishes. While the variety is impressive, we found the food quality rather average. Air-conditioned seats are limited, though there’s additional al-fresco seating available. Might work if you're after convenience and a quick fix, but don’t expect anything exceptional. 

Dry Noodles with Taiwanese Three-Cup Chicken 三杯鸡葱油拌面 (Rm 18.80)

Braised Beef Noodles 台湾红烧牛肉面 (Rm 22.80)

Matcha Frost Whisper 抹茶绵韵 (Rm 16.80)

The Rice Set Meals were not available on our visit and we did not manage to try a lot but only a couple of their noodle dishes (for main). Unfortunately based on what we had, it was quite a let down. The Three-Cup Chicken with Noodles was alright but the combo did not fare well. Probably Rice would work better in this case. Also, the Chinese description mentioned Scallion Oil and no, we could not detect even a hint of Scallion Oil. The Taiwanese Braised Beef Noodle was not even close to the real thing. The meat was not even braised. At some point, we were confused if we were being served the right dish but the server did confirm that it was the correct order. The broth tasted like Kimchi-water with a good spiciness. For dessert, we had the Matcha Frost Whisper. Good Matcha flavor but we did not like the creamy-sticky after taste. Our personal preference goes for those shaved ice with lighter texture.
