The Hong Korean Authentic Food @ Tanjung Bungah, Penang.

Previously based in Johor for almost 5 years, The Hong Korean Food has now found a new home in Penang. Run by a Korean owner, the restaurant is set in a cozy semi-detached house with a home-style ambiance (walking distance from the TAR College Penang). Seating is limited, so it's best for small groups or casual meals.  Expect familiar favorites like Jajangmyeon, Jampong, and Tangsuyuk— all served with great quality and at reasonable prices. A hidden gem for those craving comforting, no-frills Korean fare.

[Set 4] Jampong (Rm 75)

Jajangmyeon

Tangsuyuk

Set options are available at The Hong, making it extremely convenient for the indecisive and of course, better values in return. For 2 pax, we recommend going for the Set 4 which consists of a serving of Jajangmyeon (Korean Noodles in Black Bean Sauce), Jampong (Spicy Seafood Noodles) and Chicken Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Fried Chicken). The Jajangmyeon was absolutely perfect, al-dente noodles with thick and rich Black Bean Sauce, we could clearly taste the flavors from the Chunjang. Seasoning was spot on as well. If we were to nitpick, we would probably prefer more Onions for the pungent punch. The Jampong was good too, with a generous amount of Seafood which contributed to the umami notes of the dish. The Chicken Tangsuyuk was not as tender as we would have hoped but the outer coating had a slightly chewy texture... worked well with the sour-sweet dip.
