If you do enjoy some handmade Chinese Dumplings (and served to you piping hot), make your way to Hua Mama Chinese Delights 花妈妈中国美食 at Lebuh Mcnair. Manned by an experienced Chinese lady from China, the menu features an array of China Chinese delights- noodles, dumplings and some stir fries. The serving time can be a little long due to lack of manpower but you can really get some interesting quick fix here at unbeatable prices. We recommend trying their Steamed Dumplings with Crab Roe and Prawn Dumplings with Crispy Skin.
We had both Nan Chang Noodles and Scallion Oil Noodles; we enjoyed both but if we must choose, we would prefer the former one. The Nan Chang Noodles have a hint of spiciness with bolder seasoning, and fatter type of Vermicelli Noodles were used. Hence, smoother texture and better bite. We were also impressed with both Dumpling choices. The Prawn Dumplings with Crispy Skin had thin, addictively crispy skin with plump, bouncy Prawn as filling. The Steamed Dumplings with Crab Roe fared well with the smoky-sweet Crab Roe with a burst of Seafood essence. A pity that they don't serve any Ginger with the Black Vinegar.
Taste: 7.5/10 (1-3 bad, 4-7 average, 8-10 good)
