The Yori Korean Restaurant @ Iconic Point, Simpang Ampat, Penang.

A fairly new Korean restaurant at Iconic Point (Simpang Ampat), The Yori can be very crowded on weekends. The Korean restaurant offers a big Korean menu where you will find the usual, familiar Korean fare like barbecue meat, Rice cakes, Glass Noodles etc but the restaurant sits on ground floor, making it easy to accessible for some. The restaurant is also fully air-conditioned but the downside is the place is less-accommodating for larger groups (above 6 pax). If you are planning to come in a large group, do make early reservation. Items are reasonably priced to the usual Korean restaurant standard.

Jangeo (Rm 72/ whole)

Bibim Guksu (Rm 21)

Jap Chae (Rm 30)

Kimchi Jeon (Rm 27)

Tteokbokki (Rm 23)

Dakgalbi Jungsik (Rm 25)

Ojingeo Jungsik (Rm 29)

Complimentary Ban-Chan

We had a few of their signature dishes, the Grilled Eel left us with the deepest impression. Thickly cut and reasonably seasoned, it was good on its own or served with fresh greens and some Korean dips. The Dak Galbi and Bibim Guksu did not disappoint too- the former one was expertly cooked with great flavors while the Bibim Guksu was perfectly seasoned with a good bite. We did not like the Tteokbokki, the sauce was a tad too thick and sweet to our liking. The texture was softer than expected. Jap Chae was alright, nothing to shout about. Some hits and misses.
