A true Penang brand with more than 30 years of history- Kim Beh Chia Noodle House 金马车鱼头米粉 is a new branch manned by the 2nd generation. They first started at Cameron Coffee Shop at Batu Lanchang and moved to Farlim... while the stall at Farlim is still available, they have expanded their business operations by opening up a new restaurant at Ropewalk. In addition to their signature Fish Head Noodles, the menu extends to offer various Chinese stir-fried noodles like Oyster Noodles, Vermicelli Noodles etc. The place is air-conditioned and offers a comfortable dining atmosphere... a place worth checking out if you are in the vicinity (or lucky enough to secure a parking spot).
The signature Fresh Grouper Porridge was delicious with soul-comforting broth and generous portion. The fish was fresh and generously sliced. For those who prefer to have more ingredients, feel free to choose from the chiller where you can top up for extra toppings like Fish Balls, Meat etc. We actually prefer their stir-fried noodles more than the Porridge. We enjoyed both Oyster Noodles and Stir Fried Vermicelli Noodles with Fish; the former one was expertly seasoned with fresh, plump Oysters... while the latter one was carefully cooked with a good Wok Hei. The texture of the Bee Hoon was nicely controlled. We enjoyed both dishes with their homemade Sambal Belacan which we were told that the recipe comes from the proprietor's mother.
