Hai Bee Restaurant 海味饭店 at Pekaka has been around for quite a few years, the restaurant has garnered an appreciate following since its opening in 2019. The menu is simple but offering a lot of classic, homecooked-styled dishes at reasonable prices. What differentiates Hai Bee from its competitors- this restaurant is equipped with air-conditioning, offering a more comfortable dining experience. The place is often full on weekend evenings- a popular option for family dinner. Nothing fancy but a solid, no-frills Chinese stir-fry menu.

One of the signature dishes- Braised Seafood, served in Claypot... was a hit amongst us. The gravy has the perfect consistency and expertly seasoned to spoon over rice. It has a lot of ingredients inside- Chinese Cabbage, Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Shitake Mushrooms, Carrots and Prawns. We've also ordered the Deep Fried Pork Knuckle- crispy texture with juicy-tender meat, worked best with a dip in the spicy-sweet Thai chili sauce. Even the Stir Fried Vegetables with Sambal did not disappoint. All 4 elements of vegetables were carefully cooked, it has a distinctive Curry aroma on top of the mild Curry punch... making it very easy to spoon over rice. Not in the picture- the Bitter Gourd Egg (Rm 11) was good too. The Egg was silky smooth with the Bitter Gourd retaining its crunch (sans the bitterness).
