Moku By Bijou Coffee @ Nagore Road, Georgetown, Penang.

Previously occupying a small space at Transfer Road, Bijou Coffee has since relocated to Nagore Road and named the new place- Moku By Bijou Coffee... offering more food variety and a bigger space for diners. The place offers a Japanese-influenced menu now, with items like Onigiri, Ochazuke, Donburi and Japanese-style Salad. It has a standard cafe setting, air-conditioned and definitely cozier than before. The price range can be quite wide for the food with Ochazuke ranges from Rm18 to Rm40.

Salmon and Ikura Ochazuke (Rm 33)

Kani Mentaiko Onigiri (Rm 15)

Yuzu Potato Salad (Rm 13)

We started with the Yuzu Potato Salad, which came in a huge portion. It was creamy with a bit of Potato chunks and a zesty touch (from the Yuzu). I would personally prefer some Cucumber in it for the extra bite, it felt a little monotonous towards the end. The Kani Mentaiko Onigiri was okay but the filling to rice ratio was a little off- too much of rice and too little filling. The Onigiri comes with a serving of Miso Soup, some pickles and Tamagoyaki. On the main, the Salmon and Ikura Ochazuke was okay... with Japanese rice topped with seared Salmon, Ikura, Nori Seaweed and Furikake. My partner in crime thought it was slightly under-seasoned but the 'Ocha' did carry the essential tea aroma to live up the expectation.
