If you are not in the mood of some heavily seasoned hawker fare and looking for some lighter option, check out The Heirloom Co at Gurney Paragon Mall. The salad and grain bowl bar churns out healthy, nutritious yet tasty meals. Options vary from healthy Salad to Toast and Grain Bowls; prices shall depend on the toppings and customization is possible. Definitely a good option for those who are time-pressed but looking for a balanced and wholesome meal. Find The Heirloom Co on the ground floor of Gurney Paragon Mall, right in front of Lacoste/ H&M entrance near St. Jo.

Grain Bowl- Asparagus and Salmon (Rm 26.90)

Toast- Guacamole and Egg (Rm 16.90)

We were recommended to their best sellers- Guacamole/ Egg Toast and Asparagus/ Salmon Grain Bowl. The Panini-inspired Toast features Guacamole, hard boiled Egg, fresh Lettuce and Tomatoes... beautifully toasted to perfect crisp. The Guacamole was lightly seasoned and has a strong presence of Lemon juice. The concoction felt light and easy, very straight-forward but my partner in crime thought it could use a little more salt. We unanimously agreed that the Grain Bowl was better. It had Sous-vided Salmon with Wasabi Mayo (torched), Asparagus (torched) served on a bed of greens, white Corns, Tomatoes and Quinoa-Brown rice mix. The concoction was lightly dressed in Japanese Soy sauce. We like the complex flavor-combo, particularly from the Wasabi Mayo as well as the Japanese Soy Sauce. You get the classic Wasabi-Jap Soy Sauce aroma sans the pungentness. The torched Asparagus added a nice, delightful smoky touch to the bowl. Our only complain- the portion was a little too small for us (probably we have big appetite).
