Fatty Fatty Chicken Rice 肥肥鸡饭 @ Sungai Dua, Penang.

Fatty Fatty Chicken Rice 肥肥鸡饭 has been around for quite some time, they first started out at Terengganu Road branch and recently expanded its business operations, opening the second branch at Sungai Dua (same row as McDonald's). Fatty Fatty is known to churn out some quality, inexpensive Chinese roasted meat. Their signature includes roasted Duck, Char Siew and Siew Yoke, with various add-ons like braised Tofu, Egg etc. This particular branch at Sungai Dua is air-conditioned and especially crowded on lunch hours. It is a popular lunch place for both working crowd and students studying in the neighborhood.

Roasted Duck (Rm 22/ quarter)

Braised Tofu (Rm 1.40 each) and Braised Egg (Rm 1.20 each)

Char Siew Noodles (Rm 8.50)

Chai Boey (Rm 3/ small)

We ordered the signature Roasted Duck and some braised Tofu, Egg as add on. Separately, we thought they were quite good. The roasted Duck was well-seasoned and roasted to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy; perfect to go with their Chili sauce. The server ladened quite an amount of Soy Sauce to the meat and ended up it was a tad salty. The braised Tofu was a little different, albeit well-seasoned, some of us found it to be a little hard in texture while some of us thought it carried an addictive bite. We also had the Char Siew Noodles, the noodles were okay-average but the Char Siew was good- sweet, tender with pockets of fats. If you wish to avoid the crowd, come before 12:30 noon or expect to queue for table.
