Cara Caro Cafe @ Kampung Malabar, Georgetown, Penang.

A new Bohemian style cafe- Cara Caro has been attracting a big crowd since their opening due to the aesthetic interior design and strong social media presence. The place is well-decorated from the entrance to the end of the cafe space, every corner offers good photography opportunity. But the seats are cramped and less accommodating for bigger groups. Menu-wise, there is a small selection of main dishes with quite a big variety of snacks, pastries and cakes... with steep prices.

Mille-Feuillie (Rm 22)

Scones (Rm 16)

Half and Half Sourdough (Rm 26)

We started with the Rm 16 Scone Set, each set comes with 2 pieces of Scones, Jam and Cream Cheese. We were a little disappointed with the portion and the serving of Cream Cheese. For that price, we were expecting at least some Clotted Cream, if not Fresh Cream. The Scone itself was alright, though a little overly crumbly, the buttery aroma was there. We were shocked to find that the Half and Half Sourdough merely contained thin slices of Cream Cheese-spread Sourdough with some Blueberries and Avocado, not that the flavor-combo was a big problem but for Rm 26, we were expecting more... way over-priced. The Mille-Feuillie was a let down too, it was a little too dry to our liking and the Custard filling did not work.
