Miraku Restaurant (After Renovation) @ G Hotel Penang.

One of the finest Japanese restaurants in Penang- Miraku has finally reopened its doors at G Hotel Penang (in May 2023) after a major renovation at the restaurant.  Known to churn out premium quality Japanese dishes, Miraku has been one of the best places to enjoy a good Japanese meal. With its reopening, the restaurant also rolled out its new menu, as well as a big Teppanyaki counter. The Japanese restaurant has a lot to offer but the daily Set Lunch offers the best value in return.

Hokkaidon Set Lunch (Rm 58.80)

Tokusen Unaju (Rm 64.80)

Miraku Bento (Rm 62.80)

The Hokkaidon has a generous serving of Sashimi and Seafood beautifully laying atop of expertly cooked Japanese Rice. The Sashimi was generously cut to the right thickness and importantly, they were very fresh. The Tokusen Unaju was a perfect dish for those who enjoy a good Japanese Unagi. The Eel was nicely grilled and paired well with the beautifully cooked rice. Though not the best one around but for the value (together with the sides like Chawanmushi, Miso Soup and pickles), we thought it was worth it. We've also tried the Miraku Bento and there were a lot of side dishes, good enough for the indecisive. But there were some hits and misses though, the grilled Fish has a peculiar fish stench. The rest were alright and did live up to the expectations.
