As one of the members of the ONYX Hospitality Group from Thailand, Amari SPICE Penang seeks to inject more Thai elements into their buffet offering. The hotel is progressing slowly by introducing more signature Thai dishes into the buffet spread. For the month of September 2023, the buffet dinner theme is BBQ Bounty where diners are treated with plenty of barbecued goods as well as a big variety of Seafood. This is evidently seen from their Seafood On Ice- with new items such as Snow Crab, Abalones being added to the spread.
Apart from the expertly grilled Beef and generously cut Salmon Sashimi, guests can look forward to the hot dishes with a Thai flair. There is this Steamed Seafood (Scallops, Prawns, Squid) served with spicy-sweet tangy Thai Seafood Sauce and creamy-rich Thai Seafood Otak-Otak. Do not miss the Thai Curry Squid too, a dish that would go perfectly with Rice.
For desserts, the Chefs are working hard to include many Thai signatures, including the Tub Tim Krob (Thai Red Ruby Water Chestnut) and Mango Sticky Rice served with creamy Coconut cream. Both are beyond amazing and well-representing The Land of Smiles. Extra condiments like small Glutinous Rice Balls and Black Glutinous Rice are also available... especially for those who seek to add a little more texture to their desserts.
